In an event organized by MAIS C EVENTOS, Viaje Paraná, the state tourism promotion agency, held on Tuesday (09) the Business Round Meeting Paraná in Montevideo, Uruguayan capital. This is a unique event promoted by the State Government, providing an exclusive meeting with travel agents, sector entrepreneurs, and stakeholders from the neighboring country. In total, around 120 Uruguayan professionals received information on the tourism potential of Paraná. During the meeting, attractions and destinations of Paraná were presented, highlighting the rich hotel and gastronomy offerings, as well as aspects that facilitate visitor attraction. The program also included a business round between professionals, entrepreneurs, and co-exhibitors from municipalities invited by Viaje Paraná. Foz do Iguaçu in the West and Curitiba, the capital, were introduced as the two main tourist destinations in the State, responsible for attracting many foreign travelers, both overland and through their international airports. "This is the way and the strategy we use to reach the qualified market, preparing travel agents and industry professionals to include Paraná in the tourist packages they offer," said Irapuan Cortes, CEO of Viaje Paraná. "Paraná destinations are on the rise: we received over 764,000 foreign tourists this year. Of these, more than 10,000 were Uruguayans; it is a market with potential for us to work on," he added. During the training, some highlights were the proximity between the countries and the direct air connection, without layovers, with Paraná - which has a flight from Montevideo to Afonso Pena Airport in São José dos Pinhais, in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba, made possible in 2024 with the support of the State Government.
